Software Engineer
Software Engineers at Living Discoveries are experts at creating the performant, high-quality software which powers our products. Unlike many companies, Software Engineers at Living Discoveries have a high degree of feedback into the systems they design and the overall engineering priorities of the company. The development and corporate environments are relaxed, casual, and friendly, without buzzwords, layers of management, or politics. Software Engineers report directly to the Chief Technical Officer. Ideal candidates for this role have industry or academic experience developing software in Java, C++, Python, Matlab, Perl, or R as well as facility with at least one Windows or Linux development environment. Knowledge of software testing and prior experience in the medical device industry are pluses.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret customer and researcher requirements, translating them into usable software designs.
- Build high-quality, performant, and well-tested software.
- Help put a software development process in place for accelerating the company's future development efforts without constraining developer freedom.
- Propose new directions for and influence the product offerings of the company.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Java, C++, Python, Matlab, Perl, or R. Initial salary and level will be commensurate with experience.
- Ease with at least one toolchain on Windows or Linux, including familiarity with a debugger and version control system.
- Motivated, independent, and passionate about producing high-quality software.
- A BS or higher degree in mathematics, statistics, medicine, science, or engineering is strongly recommended but not a requirement.
